Arrested Russian tanker to be put up for sale via Prozorro
ARMA begins the procedure for the sale of the arrested Russian tanker Nika Spirit, which blocked the Kerch Strait in 2018.
This was reported by the Asset Management and Tracing Agency (ARMA).
The decision to begin the process of selling the arrested Russian tanker Nika Spirit was made following the meeting of the tender commission for the sale of arrested assets. The first stage will be a competition to select the asset seller, who will then organize the search for an independent appraiser for the tanker.
“After the completion of the valuation procedures, the asset will be put up for sale through the Prozorro.Sales system. This will ensure maximum transparency and competitiveness during the sale of the vessel, which previously belonged to Russian owners,” the report says.
As USM reported, the tanker Nika Spirit (formerly Neyma) was arrested in July 2019 in the port of Izmail.
According to Equasis, it was identified as the vessel that blocked the Kerch Strait in November 2018. Then, Russian border guards seized Ukrainian warships with 24 crew members at gunpoint.
