Britain lifts sanctions on Turkish shipowner whose vessels operated in Russia

The British government has removed the Turkish company Active Shipping from the list of sanctioned companies.
Recall that Active Shipping has been under sanctions by the British government since February 2024 – then the country added the company to the sanctions list because its fleet transported Russian oil.
At the time of inclusion in the list, the company operated 17 vessels, including 13 tankers, some of which entered Russian ports after the invasion of Ukraine.
Now, as TradeWinds reports, the British government has lifted sanctions on Active Shipping after the fleet of 17 vessels left the company’s balance sheet.
Earlier, we reported that the United Kingdom imposed sanctions against 40 vessels of the “shadow fleet”.
