Business calls for the creation of a separate queue at the border with Poland
The European Business Association (EBA) called for free movement of perishable goods on the Ukrainian-Polish border.
The EBA appealed to the Ukrainian government to ensure priority access to the border crossing with Poland in both directions for some cargoes. Latifundist writes about it.
In particular, we are talking about perishable goods, as well as humanitarian and military cargo.
Due to the actions of protesters on both sides, the expected delivery times increased by 11 days for non-food products and 2-7 days for food products.
Against the background of strikes by Polish farmers, Ukrainian farmers also announced protests at the border. As a result, cargoes imported into Ukraine have recently been blocked. Among them are perishable goods: fresh meat and fish, vegetables and fruits.
The EBA emphasized that by blocking trucks, strikers not only cause losses to Ukrainian importing companies, but also harm European manufacturing companies.
According to Polish experts from the Institute of Public Finance (IPF), Ukrainian grain does not harm the Polish agricultural market.
Also recently, the head of the foreign affairs committee of the Polish Sejm, Pawel Koval, stated that the border with Poland could be unblocked within a few weeks.
