Defense forces of Ukraine destroyed a submarine in the port of Sevastopol

The units of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine significantly damaged four launchers of the “Triumph” air defense system, and also hit the submarine of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation “Rostov-on-Don”.

As a result of a hit in the port of Sevastopol, the boat sank on the spot, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted.

Note that the submarine B-237 “Rostov-on-Don” (according to the NATO classification – Kilo class) is one of the four submarines of this class capable of using Kalibr missiles.

“Rostov-on-Don” was commissioned on December 26, 2014. On September 13, 2023, as a result of a Ukrainian missile attack, the ship was seriously damaged.

In the future, it was repaired and tested in the water area of ​​the Sevastopol harbor. The cost of the submarine is estimated at 300 million dollars.
