Dry cargo ship with Ukrainian grain sank in the waters of Greece


Dry cargo ship Sea Bird sank in the Cretan Sea this morning.

There were 16 crew member, citizens of Syria, on board – all of them were rescued, reports Fleetmon. The vessel was sailing from Berdyansk to the port of Sousse (Tunisia) with 7 thousand tons of wheat of the Solagro Trade company on board.

The dry cargo ship sank after collision with an unknown object: more detailed information is not provided, but judging by the positions of the vessels and their pathways in the area, Sea Bird probably collided with the bulk carrier Haya. The latter is drifting north of the intended impact site.
