Due to the blocking of the border, the budget of Ukraine lost more than UAH 9 billion in customs payments
As a result of the blockade of three checkpoints on the border with Poland, the budget of Ukraine lost more than UAH 9 billion in customs payments in November alone.
Due to the blocking of the border, the budget lost UAH 9.3 billion due to non-payment of customs payments, the head of the parliamentary committee on finance and customs policy, Danylo Hetmantsev, said on the air of the telethon.
According to him, the blocking of the border by Polish carriers was a powerful blow to the Ukrainian economy.
Exports through the relevant land crossing points fell by 40%. And only in the first two weeks of the blockade, carriers reported losses of 400 million euros, Hetmantsev noted.
The official called on the governments of the countries blocking the border to prevent the situation from worsening to a critical level. The weakening of Ukraine, Hetmantsev said, only strengthens the common enemy, which will later hit the economies of these states.
