Law enforcement officers discovered drug smuggling to the EU through Black Sea ports

The SBU and EU law enforcement agencies completed a special operation to eliminate a large-scale channel of smuggling heavy drugs from Iran to the European Union.

According to the investigation, the perpetrators developed a route for transporting drugs by sea through the Odesa port, and after its blockade in connection with Russian aggression, they used the ports of Romania and moved the cargo to Ukraine by land.

To disguise the cargo, the attackers hid it in double-bottomed boxes in which dates were transported.

In total, law enforcement officers seized 186 kg of Iranian heroin worth $11 million.
