Loading of Russian military equipment continues in Tartus for the third day

Russian warships can no longer enter the Syrian port, so the equipment is loaded only on two sanctioned transport vessels.

The Russian military ro-ro ships Sparta II (entered the port on January 21) and Sparta (arrived on January 22) are at the berths of the Syrian port of TARTUS. This was reported by OSINT analyst MT Anderson.

Satellite data indicates a decrease in the number of military equipment at the berths, which may indicate an active process of its loading.

Interestingly, before entering the port, both ships made circular routes in the Mediterranean Sea for three weeks.

The sanctioned ro-ro ships were accompanied by two more ships. However, they probably have not yet participated in the transshipment of military equipment.

At the same time, the warships of the Russian Mediterranean squadron do not enter the port of Tartus, remaining at sea.

USM recently wrote that Syria’s new government has terminated a 49-year agreement with Russia regarding the port of Tartus.
