New EU sanctions will target Russian LNG exports by sea
In the new package of sanctions against the Russian Federation, the allies will focus on banning the import of Russian LNG and countering the work of the “shadow fleet”.
In the 14th package of sanctions since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, EU countries will implement restrictions on Russian LNG. This was stated by the head of the Swedish Foreign Ministry, Tobias Billström, writes “European Truth”.
Sanctions will also be strengthened against the so-called shadow fleet of the Russian Federation. In particular, the restrictions will apply to the entry of offending vessels into EU ports.
Also, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden emphasized that an important issue is the continuous provision of military aid to Ukraine.
As USM wrote, despite the sanctions, Russia continues to increase sea exports of oil.
Recently, a port operator subordinate to the Russian Federation was exposed in Finland.
