OC “Pivden” explained the logic of the maritime corridor
There is currently no timetable for the operation of the humanitarian corridor in the Black Sea, ships sail when the security situation allows.
This was reported by the spokeswoman of the joint press center of the Operational Command “Pivden” Nataliya Humenyuk on the air of the national telethon. Humenyuk asked not to “twist the situation” around any artificial delays that are occurring.
According to Humenyuk, it is generally about the operation of the humanitarian corridor, and not only the “grain corridor”, where only grain is transported.
“Ensuring the work of this corridor is proposed under conditions that the Defense Forces can follow and provide the security component to the extent possible,” Humenyuk noted.
She reminded that the work of the maritime corridor is carried out without the guarantees of international partners, its work is independently ensured by the Ukrainian military. Ships enter and leave the corridor only when the military is confident that the operation will take place as safely as possible.
