Odesa Port Plant can start handling vessels

The State Property Fund is considering the possibility of expanding the functions of the Odesa Port Plant .

Today, Odesa Port Plant works in non-core areas: it produces oxygen and nitrogen, and also deals with transshipment of grains, said the head of the State Property Fund Vitaliy Koval in an interview with LIGA.net.

But the current activity only brings income to finance the basic expenses of the society, to maintain the team and to pay most of the salaries.

The State Property Fund  is currently considering the possibility of expanding the activities of the Odesa Port Plant. The plant has the capacity to load multi-ton vessels. It actually acts as a deep sea port.

FDM does not exclude the possibility of launching Odesa Port Plant according to the new profile. But for this, a safety component is necessary, in order, for example, to protect the production of ammonia from being hit by Russian missiles.

Previously, USM reported that the work team of the Odesa Port Plant published an open appeal to the President of Ukraine with a request to facilitate the start of production.
