More than 100 tons of oil have already been pumped out of the Pivdennyi Buh River, which leaked after the Russian attack. The damage is estimated at 45 billion UAH.

This was reported by the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Senkevych, in his Telegram channel.

As of January 4, 110 tons of oil have already been pumped out of the Pivdennyi Buh River, which leaked after the fall of UAV debris on the reservoir of an agricultural enterprise.

The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine noted that the estimated amount of damage is 45 billion UAH.

After the fall of debris, 1,800 tons of sunflower oil leaked from the reservoir. Then, environmentalists recorded an oil stain on an area of 1,000 sq. m with a layer of about 1 cm. Already on January 2, the area of contamination increased to 9,000 sq. m, and the thickness of the layer in some areas reached 10 cm.

As a reminder, on the night of December 28, a tank with vegetable oil at an agro-industrial enterprise was damaged by falling drone debris in Mykolaiv. The oil, due to the Russian attack, fell into the Pivdennyi Buh River.
