Poland offers Ukraine to make concessions to the protesters in order to unblock the border.

The former Minister of Infrastructure of Poland, Andrzej Adamczyk, addressed the Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kubrakov, with proposals for solving the border crisis. This is reported by “Ukrinform” with reference to the Ministry of Infrastructure of Poland.

The proposals include the passage of empty Polish trucks from Ukraine to Poland outside the electronic queue. Warsaw will also ask the European Commission to analyze the consequences of the implementation of the agreement on the liberalization of transportation with Ukraine.

“This is about canceling mandatory registration in the electronic queue of vehicles returning from Ukraine to the EU without cargo – at least at two checkpoints: Ustylug-Zosin and Nyzhankovychy-Malhovice,” Adamchyk explained.

One of the reasons for the blockade by Polish carriers of the border is the introduction of an electronic queue by the Ukrainian side. This led to an increase in the waiting time at the border of empty trucks returning from Ukraine. According to the protesters, the new system allows for “unequal treatment of carriers from Ukraine and Poland.”

According to the ex-minister, blocking the border makes it impossible to fulfill further orders and reduces the competitiveness of companies. At the same time, Adamchyk appealed to the European Commissioner for Transport, Adina Valean, with a request to create a joint committee to analyze the impact of the transport liberalization agreement with Ukraine on the EU road transport market.
