Despite the shelling, the maritime corridor continues to operate, and about 200 million tons of cargo have already been transported through it.

Since the start of the full-scale war, Russia has damaged or destroyed more than 900 objects of Ukraine’s port infrastructure. This was reported by the head of the USPA Mykola Kravchuk.

Also, 246 people were injured as a result of attacks on seaports. At the same time, Ukrainian ports continue to ensure the operation of the maritime corridor and remain an important element of global food logistics.

“Since the launch of the Ukrainian corridor, about 200 million tons of cargo have already been transported, of which 117 million tons are agricultural products,” Kravchuk noted.

During a visit to the port of Odessa, the American delegation was shown the consequences of Russian strikes on port infrastructure. In particular, the US representatives were shown the building of the Marine Station in Odessa, destroyed as a result of a missile strike in 2023.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian ports have increased transshipment by over 35% despite the shelling.
