Russia wants to scare the US with the Pacific Fleet

Russia put the Pacific Fleet on alert and began bringing it to the highest level of readiness.

The Pacific Fleet was put on the highest alert for a surprise inspection. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Defense of russian federation, Sergei Shoigu, during a meeting with the management staff of the department.

“Today from 9 o’clock (Vladivostok time) the full Pacific Fleet was put on alert and started to be brought to the highest level of combat readiness,” the minister said.

According to him, the main goal of the inspection is to increase the ability of the armed forces to solve the tasks of “repelling the aggression of a possible adversary from the ocean and sea directions.”

In the course of operations, the Pacific Fleet has to repulse massive missile air strikes, carry out training on the search and destruction of submarines, conduct torpedo and artillery firing, missile launches, etc.
