Russian ship spotted near Syrian port of Tartus

The Russian ship Sparta IV is waiting for permission to enter Tartus off the coast of Syria.

This was reported by Kateryna Yaresko, a journalist for the SeaKrime project of the Myrotvorets center.

Sparta IV (IMO: 9743033) arrived at the Syrian coast, where it was sent to wait north of the port of Tartus.

“The AIS is turned off, so we can’t see what trajectories it is recording there,” Yaresko noted.

The ship arrived from the military base in Baltiysk to remove military equipment and containers with property of Russian military units.

Earlier, USM reported that a well-known sanctioned ship was involved in the evacuation of Russian troops from Tartus.
