A Russian man who tried to escape from law enforcement officers on a yacht flying the Ukrainian flag was detained in Turkey.

A citizen of the Russian Federation was detained in Antalya while trying to flee abroad. He was wanted by Interpol on charges of bribery, DHA reports.

The Coast Guard has received information that a Russian man wanted by Interpol on a “red card” and his son, whose residence permit in Turkey has expired, are planning to leave the country by sea.

The men were detained while trying to cross the border on a yacht flying the flag of Ukraine. Also, a citizen of Azerbaijan and a citizen of Ukraine were detained on the ship. Law enforcement officers seized mobile phones, money in dollars and euros, a laptop, a tablet, as well as passports and ID cards of citizens of the Russian Federation.

USM previously reported that the crew of the Greek yacht was blamed for the forest fire on the island of Hydra.
