The terminal near the Orlovka-Isaccea crossing has already processed more than 60,000 tons of cargo

The river terminal, which opened a few months ago near the Orlovka-Isaccea ferry crossing, has already processed about 60,000 tons of cargo.

The first vessel arrived at the terminal at the beginning of December, Yuriy Dimchoglo, one of the investors and initiators of the crossing and the port, told in an interview with TTS.

“From December to February inclusive, the terminal handled about 60,000 tons of cargo. In December 2022, we transported 12,000 tons, in January 2023 – 20,000 tons, in February – 28,000 tons,” the businessman said.

According to Dimchoglo, it is planned to reach a transshipment rate of 30,000 tons or more in March. Currently, the main nomenclature consists of grain cargoes.

It is also noted that about 2 million euros have already been invested in the development of the terminal. A pier 220 m long and 7 m deep was built near the ferry crossing.

Currently, an application has been submitted to USPA for the facility to receive the status of a marine terminal. Yuriy Dimchoglo expressed hope that such a status can be obtained already in April.
