The Ukrainian part of the Danube will be integrated into the European transport network TEN-T
Representatives of Ukraine, Romania, Moldova, the USA and the European Commission discussed the integration of the Ukrainian part of the Danube into the TEN-T network.
A meeting in the QUINT format was held in Chisinau, which brought together representatives of Ukraine, the USA, Romania, Moldova and the European Commission (DG MOVE), the Ministry of Restoration reported.
The main goal of the meeting is to strengthen regional cooperation and find effective solutions for the development of the Danube region.
“The Danube region for Ukraine is a strategic hub, which, with a full-scale invasion, has allowed to strengthen the export potential not only of our country, but also of Moldova and Romania. Our joint efforts are focused on expanding the throughput capacity of ports. At the same time, thanks to the work in the Quint format, it was possible to launch a full-fledged “green corridor” between the Reni – Giurgiuleşti – Galati checkpoints. This allowed to speed up the delivery of cargo to the Romanian port of Galati and reduce the time for control procedures. To this end, on the Ukrainian side, we reconstructed the Reni checkpoint, while our Romanian and Moldovan colleagues launched coordinated control at the Galatsi checkpoint,” said Deputy Minister for Communities and Territories Development Serhiy Derkach.
During the meeting, the Ukrainian delegation reported on the development of the Danube ports. The priority is not only the optimization of the operation of the ports, but also the development of the railway and automobile infrastructure, which ensures the delivery of cargo to port terminals.
Separately, the parties discussed the integration of the Ukrainian part of the Danube into the European TEN-T network, which will improve transport logistics and ensure integration with the European infrastructure.
Recall that earlier, the UDS announced a collapse in transportation on the Danube.
