UDS plans to launch the new SLG barge already in January

This month, the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company plans to launch another SLG barge.

Dmytro Moskalenko, head of the UDS, said this in an interview with USM.

According to him, in two years the company has restored a record number of self-propelled fleet.

“UDS currently has 25 traction units in operation, another 20 in reserve, that is, they are in technically sound condition with documents. One caravan is from 5 to 9 barges, so this amount of traction is more than enough to operate 200 barges,” said Dmytro Moskalenko.

This year, the UDS is betting on increasing the non-self-propelled fleet – they are building new barges. Another SLG barge is planned to be launched in January.

As previously reported by USM, the project envisages the construction of about 30 new barges, which in the long run will allow to obtain another 5-6 barge caravans.
