UDS begins to form container caravans for export

PJSC “Ukrainian Danube Shipping” begins forming container caravans.

The UDS is already preparing to launch barge container caravans on the Middle and Upper Danube, the Ministry of Reconstruction reported.

Ukrainian exporters and carriers are once again faced with the blocking of checkpoints on the western border. An alternative logistics route from Ukraine to the EU is river transportation on the Danube.

Paroplavstvo offers delivery of containers to the Danube ports of Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary, Slovakia, Austria, Germany and to the Romanian port of Constanta.

In addition to transportation, the company provides storage and transshipment in Ukrainian ports, organization of transshipment in unloading ports.

The state company has already started consultations with carriers regarding attracting the required number of containers needed to form the first caravans.

Last year, the UDS implemented a large-scale repair program – 25 units of the self-propelled fleet (20 in reserve) and more than 200 barges are in operation. Therefore, the company has enough resources and opportunities to intercept the flow of containers from vehicles.

As previously reported by USM, the focus of attention of “Ukrainian Danube Shipping” this year remains the modernization of the fleet, increasing the volume of transportation, as well as cooperation with foreign companies.
