Ukraine and Poland extended transit permits for trucks

The ministries of Ukraine and Poland have reached an agreement on the extension of permits for cargo transportation to third countries.

Permits for cargo transportation to third countries from Ukraine through Poland will be valid until the end of June 2023. This agreement was reached during the negotiations in Lublin, reports the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine

A meeting of the Ukrainian-Polish commission on international road transport is also scheduled to take place. In particular, they will discuss issues related to the long-term decision regarding permits.

During the negotiations, the issue of the electronic queue for crossing the border by trucks was also discussed. So far, online meetings with Polish carriers regarding eCherga have been agreed.

The Ministry of Infrastructure of Poland should analyze the operation of the car checkpoints in Korchów, Medyka and Grebenne. This is necessary to maximize their throughput.

“The latter directly affects the speed of crossing the border by trucks, according to the entry in eCherz. Separately, an agreement was reached on the interpretation of the Agreement with the EU on the transportation of goods by road transport,” the ministry emphasized.

We will remind you that last year, an electronic queue for vessels was introduced in the seaports of Odesa Region. Even earlier, a similar technology was introduced in Ukrainian ports on the Danube.

As previously reported by USM, in September 2022, Ukraine and Estonia started the implementation of a pilot project for the introduction of an electronic waybill (e-TTN) for cargo carriers.
