Ukraine risks disrupting the modernization financing program, — UDS
The Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company said that Ukraine risks disrupting the financing program for the modernization of the fleet.
Three ships of the Kapitan Antypov series are heading from Ukraine to Austria for modernization, the UDS reported.
To compensate for expenses, three barges were attached to the ships. The entire caravan was loaded with iron ore raw materials, which were unloaded in Smederevo (Serbia).
The UDS said that the fleet modernization process is gaining momentum — international partners are aiming to participate in the project, and the company has every chance of getting financing.
However, for this, it is necessary to form a supervisory board of the UDS and approve changes to the financial plan, which is already beyond the company’s competence.
Questions are paralyzed in higher-level instances. Because of this, Ukraine risks disrupting the modernization financing program, although the partners have repeatedly confirmed their readiness to implement it, the UDS emphasized.
Earlier, USM reported that there was a mass layoff of workers at the UDS. As the company told USM, dismissals are related to personnel optimization.
