Ukraine will soon send the first ships with containers through the Danube
In the coming days, Ukraine will send the first ships with containers through the Danube.
Yes, the next day they plan to send the first ships with containers down the Danube to Constanta (Romania), and then up the Danube to Germany and Austria.
This was stated by the Minister of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development, Oleksandr Kubrakov, on the form “Ukraine. year 2024”, reports “Economichna Pravda”.
Container transportation is planned to be launched via the Danube, and later also from the ports of Great Odesa.
“As soon as possible, we will switch to export-import using containers and container terminals, which will be operational again on the Black Sea,” the minister commented.
According to him, it is planned to remove “some barriers” in the near future, which will make it possible to export more goods, primarily grain and metallurgical products, through the Ukrainian maritime corridor.
Previously, USM reported that the UDS had renamed vessels carrying Russian names, focusing on Ukrainian cities under occupation.
