Ukrvodshlyakh and Ukrzaliznytsia received a grant from the EU program
Ukraine will receive 52 million euros for four projects for the development of transport infrastructure within the framework of the European Union program.
Four Ukrainian projects for the development of transport infrastructure within the framework of the EU program “Connecting Europe Facility” (CEF) have received funding approval, the Ministry for Restoration reported.
This concerns 52 million euros for the development of the railway, automobile checkpoints, river information service and air navigation support.
Grant agreements were presented to the project beneficiaries – the State Agency for the Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukrairorukh and SE “Ukrvodshlyakh”.
Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine – Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba emphasized that receiving these grants allows us to move towards the integration of Ukraine into the European transport space.
In particular, we are talking about the initiative “Ukrainian River Information Service on the Danube River – UkrRIS on the Danube River”. The project consists of creating and implementing a river information service on the Ukrainian part of the Danube, including its integration into the EuRIS and CEERIS portals of the RIS COMEX project, as well as ensuring an appropriate level of navigation safety and providing harmonized information services to vessels on inland waterways.
The projects “Integration of the Ukrainian railway system into the EU transport system. Phase 1” and “Organization of transport flows to increase the infrastructure capacity, safety and efficiency of border crossing services on the common road Romania-Moldova-Ukraine PP Galati/Giurgiulesti/Reni” are also being implemented in Ukraine.
USM previously reported that the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE) will continue to support projects to develop transport infrastructure.
