USPA and EBRD jointly prepare the port of Chornomorsk for concession

The State Enterprise “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority” together with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will finance the preparation of facilities in the port of Chornomorsk for the concession.

On October 19th, MIU, EBRD and USPA signed a contract on the preparation of concession projects for the seaport of Chornomorsk. This was reported by the press service of the USPA.

Under the terms of the contract, SE “USPA” together with the EBRD will finance the preparation of concession projects for the port of Chornomorsk. The signing of the contract was attended by Minister of Infrastructure Olexandr Kurbakov, Deputy Chairman of the EBRD Mark Magaletsky and the Acting Head of the USPA Olexandr Golodnitsky.

“The successful implementation of concession projects in the seaport of Chornomorsk will have a huge impact on the development of the Ukrainian maritime complex as a whole. We expect significant investments in the renewal of large funds, and as a result – additional volumes of cargo transshipment,” said Olexandr Golodnitsky.

According to Golodnitsky, the International Financial Corporation (IFC) will also participate in the project.
