Vegetable oil leaked into the Pivdennyi Buh in Mykolaiv due to a Russian attack

On the night of December 28, a tank with vegetable oil at an agro-industrial enterprise was damaged by falling drone debris in Mykolaiv.

The oil fell into the Pivdennyi Buh River due to a Russian attack, city mayor Oleksandr Senkevych reported on Thursday, January 2.

“In order to eliminate the consequences, sorbent boom barriers were allocated from the material reserve of Mykolaiv, which specialists from the 10th platoon of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine have locally installed in places of contamination of the water area,” Senkevych noted.

It is noted that since December 28, specialists have been pumping out oil all these days. So far, 25 tons have been pumped out, but work continues.

Senkevych noted that there is no significant negative impact on the environment, because the oil is of organic origin.

Earlier it became known that UZ lost 16 court cases to one of the terminals in the Mykolaiv port.
