Exports by sea decreased due to Russian shelling

Attacks by the invaders on the port infrastructure of Odesa Region last week led to a break in export shipments.

Active shelling from Russia last week led to a decrease in the rate of exports by water transport. Spike Brokers write about it.

There is a decrease in the planned volumes of cargo for April-May. This may affect rate adjustments. Currently, the freight rates from the Danube ports in the direction of Constanta have increased to the level of 20-25 euros per ton. Rates for transportation from the ports of Greater Odessa remain stable.

Market rates for transportation by sea transport from the port of Chornomorsk are:

• to the East coast of Italy — 31-32 dollars;

• in the direction of Spain — 33-35 dollars per ton;

• to Portugal — 34-37 dollars;

• to China — 65-67 dollars.

USM recently wrote that the freight rates for the transportation of grain from Ukrainian ports by “koster” and “panamax” have increased.
