Cadets of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine undergo training on a Polish sailboat


Cadets of the Institute of the Naval Forces of Ukraine undergo practical training on a Polish training sailboat.

Sailors practice on the training sailing ship “ORP Iskra” of the Academy of the Navy of the Republic of Poland in Gdynia, the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

The cadets familiarize themselves with the organization of service on the ship, study the basic principles of navigation of a sailboat, the rules of maneuvering according to NATO standards, etc.

The three-headed barkentine “ORP Iskra” is a training ship of the Polish Navy, the second in history with a similar name. The sailboat was commissioned in 1982. This is the first Polish ship that sailed around the world.

Military sailors conducted training on new boats. Large-scale exercises of the forces and means of the River Flotilla of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine took place on the Dnipro River and in the water areas of the Kyiv and Kaniv Reservoirs.
