Estonia’s assistance to Ukraine’s maritime industry includes 600 million euros and support from Grain from Ukraine
The plan to restore Ukraine’s maritime industry includes a package of 600 million euros and assistance for Grain from Ukraine.
This was stated by the Minister of Infrastructure of Estonia, Vladimir Svet, in an interview with Ukrinform.
According to him, the plan to restore Ukraine’s maritime industry includes the protection of Ukrainian infrastructure even during the war. It also includes a package of about 600 million euros.
Svet noted that the infrastructure will be needed when Ukraine wins and begins a large-scale restoration process, when companies from all over the world start using this infrastructure.
The first part of the plan meets the greatest needs of the Ukrainian fleet and maritime industry. The assistance includes a package of about 600 million euros, divided into what the Navy needs and dual-use needs. The share for the Navy is approximately 25% — these are the most urgent requests for operations at sea.
As for the civilian component, the plan focuses on supporting Ukrainian trade. First of all, we are talking about the Grain from Ukraine initiative.
“We also want to help increase the potential of your ports, because you receive large volumes of goods, cargo and energy,” Svet added. Earlier, USM reported that Ukraine and Estonia had discussed a plan to restore port infrastructure.
