Invaders in Crimea are trying to sell the “nationalized” ports in Yalta and Yevpatoria

In the temporarily occupied Crimea, the Russian “authorities” put up for auction on July 2 two companies that manage the “nationalized” seaports in Yalta and Yevpatoria.

This is reported by “Holos Krymu”.

Thus, 100% of the capital of two companies is being sold, with the starting price of the lots being about UAH 790 million for one company and almost 103 million hryvnias for the second. The auction itself is scheduled for August 1.

In addition to the Yalta and Yevpatoria ports, the “authorities of the Republic of Crimea” also nominally control the ports in Kerch and Feodosia, which are supposedly “federal property”.

As the publication notes, all of these ports are currently operating with low capacity due to the limited number of ships ready to call under sanctions. The occupiers are counting on attracting the ports for passenger transportation and yacht tourism, but market participants have doubts about ensuring the necessary demand.

The “authorities” of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea themselves directly admit that currently the seaports of the occupied region are not involved “even at 10% of their capacity”. However, the occupiers cannot develop passenger transportation, since they do not have their own sea cruise ships and are under sanctions.

“Voice of Crimea” also notes that currently the selling ports do not have serious prerequisites for a significant increase in their cargo base.

Earlier it became known that Russia plans to involve a Chinese company to develop a port in Crimea.
