Russia cancels main naval parade in St. Petersburg for second year in a row

The Russian Ministry of Defense does not plan to hold the main naval parade, which since 2017 has been held in St. Petersburg on the last Sunday of July.
This year, the parade was supposed to take place on July 26, but the Russian Ministry of Defense decided not to hold it, rosZMI reports.
“You understand, not so much now,” said the interlocutor of one of the publications in the navy.
Until June 15, the decree of the President of the Russian Federation on the holding of the parade was not published. According to the sources of the “Fontanka” publication, the order to prepare the parade was not received.
The main naval parade in St. Petersburg is canceled for the second year in a row. In 2025, in the Kremlin, such a decision was explained by the “general situation”. “Considerations of security above all else,” said Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation. In 2024, the parade was held in a truncated form – in Kronstadt, the sea part of the parade was canceled for the first time in eight years.
Earlier, USM reported that SBS hit a Russian border ship in Crimea.
