Nibulon received certification for demining water areas

The Ukrainian agroholding “Nibulon” has successfully passed certification for two more types of mine action activities.

These are demining of water areas and informing the population about the risks associated with explosive objects, Nibulon reported.

From now on, the company has the right to officially carry out work on surveying and clearing of explosive objects not only on land, but also in rivers, lakes, reservoirs and coastal zones.

The company’s sappers-divers underwent practical certification under the supervision of experts from the Certification Center of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. During the tests, they demonstrated the implementation of basic methods of clearing water areas in accordance with national standards and international IMAS requirements. The experts also checked the documentation, reporting, photo and video recording of the work performed.

“Receiving this certificate means that we have created the necessary professional basis for the development of demining of water areas. We are consistently building this direction – from training the team and obtaining the necessary competencies to creating a modern technical infrastructure. Our task is to be ready to start practical work immediately, as soon as the security situation allows for large-scale clearance of Ukrainian waters,” said Vsevolod Petrovsky, head of the humanitarian demining direction of Nibulon.

The main direction of the certification was informing the population about mine danger, which will allow the company’s specialists to conduct educational work in communities, raising awareness of risks and helping to prevent accidents.

The new certifications became another stage in the systematic development of the humanitarian demining direction, which Nibulon has been consistently building since 2023. It was then that, with the support of DEG Impulse gGmbH, the company created a specialized humanitarian demining unit, formed a professional team, purchased modern equipment and returned more than 7,500 hectares of agricultural land to use.

The new DEG Impulse grant, received in 2025, opened the next stage of this cooperation – the creation of a modern infrastructure for humanitarian water demining in Ukraine. Obtaining a certificate for demining water areas was the first practical result of the implementation of this project.

“We are sincerely grateful to DEG Impulse for their trust and strategic partnership. For us, this is not just support for a separate project, but an opportunity to jointly create a new capacity for Ukraine – the cleaning of waterways, on which the operation of ports, logistics, the economy and the security of communities depend. It is such long-term partnerships that allow us to move from individual initiatives to systemic solutions for the restoration of the country,” said Vsevolod Petrovsky.

Currently, the humanitarian demining division of Nibulon continues to implement state and commercial land demining projects in the Kharkiv region and is preparing to implement the next stage of development of the water demining direction.

Earlier, USM reported that Nibulon may increase tax deductions to the Mykolaiv budget by 25%.
