The Marine Rescue Service will buy an aluminum boat for UAH 165 million
The Marine Search and Rescue Service has found a contractor to supply the boat for UAH 165 million.
The tender took place on December 1st with two participants – Finnish Uudenkaupungin Tyovene Oy and Estonian Baltic Workboats AS. The last shipbuilding company won the auction with a difference in supply of UAH 50,000 (USD 1.8 thousand), according to USI.
In the course of the auction, complaints were received against the contract. For example, one potential participant described the documentary requirements as discriminatory. The contractor noted that a boat with a shipbuilding steel hull is more suitable for the tasks, as it withstands impacts from collisions better. But the customer limited the vessel’s material to marine aluminum, and the company’s offer was rejected.
As a reminder, in October, the Marine Search and Rescue Service published a tender for the purchase of a speedboat. The cost of the order is UAH 165 million (USD 6.01 million). The delivery time for the vessel is June 30th, 2023.
Requirements for technical characteristics: length – 25-28 m; speed in still water – at least 30 knots, with a wave height of 2.5 m – at least 20 knots; autonomy – 5 days. The cruising range is not less than 700 nautical miles at a speed of 18 knots, with a fuel reserve of 10%. The vessel must hold 150 liters of fresh water per person. Crew – 5-6 people.
In addition, the vessel must navigate thin, fractured ice (50 mm) at reduced speed, and solid (25 mm) ice at a maximum speed of 5 knots. A rescue water scooter must also be included with the vessel.
