A spill of petroleum products from a foreign vessel was discovered in Odesa
At the beginning of December, the State Environmental Inspection discovered a spill of petroleum products from a foreign ship in the sea.
The Inspectorate of the South-Western District, in cooperation with one of the USPA branches, recorded the pollution of sea waters by oil products, the State Ecological Inspection reported.
The pollution was caused by a spill from a foreign vessel under the flag of Barbados, which was being loaded in one of the ports of Odesa region.
The ecoinspection drew up a protocol against the violator and calculated the damage caused to the environment. In particular, we are talking about the damage to sea waters, which was estimated at more than 60 thousand hryvnias. The violator voluntarily and in full paid the administrative fine and the amount of damages.
