Agency for Search and Asset Management deposit portfolio increased due to the seizure of russian vessels
The volume of the deposit portfolio of the Agency for Search and Asset Management has doubled in recent months. This is connected, among other things, with the arrest of russian vessels.
As of September 1, the Agency’s deposit portfolio amounted to UAH 717.4 million. However, as of November 1, more than UAH 1.4 billion was deposited in the National Agency’s deposit accounts, the Agency’s press service reports.
The largest source of replenishment of Agency’s accounts recently is the funds received from the sale of seized russian property. Thus, earlier it handed over 9 russian vessels with a total value of over UAH 532 million to a Ukrainian enterprise.
In addition, in October, law enforcement officers handed over russian and Belarusian property worth more than 844 million to the Agency for Search and Asset Management. Among the confiscated items are 22 units of agricultural machinery, a 25% share in the authorized capital of the wagon-building plant, 645 wagons and other property of the organization, the owner of which is a citizen of russian federation.
With the funds from the seized assets, the Agency buys military bonds and thus finances the defense needs of the state during the war, the Agency noted. As of November 4, the National Agency has already purchased military bonds worth more than UAH 450 million, currently preparations are underway for the purchase of securities worth more than UAH 410 million.
