EU considers sanctions against Israel over imports of stolen Ukrainian grain

The European Union is considering the option of imposing sanctions against Israel for buying stolen Ukrainian grain.
This is reported by the Haaretz newspaper.
These are sanctions against specific Israeli citizens and companies suspected of assisting Russia in circumventing restrictions.
The EU said that it condemns “all actions that help finance the Russian Federation’s illegal military efforts and circumvent sanctions.” This happened after another ship suspected of transporting grain from the occupied territories of Ukraine arrived at the port of Haifa on April 26.
“The European Union is considering the possibility of imposing sanctions against Israeli individuals and legal entities that help the Russian Federation circumvent international sanctions imposed against it, and demands information from Israel regarding the stolen Ukrainian grain imported into Israel from the Russian Federation,” the statement said.
Earlier, USM reported that the Israeli Foreign Ministry responded to Ukraine’s note of protest regarding the Russian ship with stolen grain. On the eve of the Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybig announced the summoning of the Israeli ambassador to deliver a note of protest. Earlier it became known that the port of Haifa received the second Russian ship with grain from the temporarily occupied territories.
Also, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the arrival of a ship with stolen Ukrainian grain in Israel. He emphasized that Ukraine, based on information, is preparing an appropriate sanctions package that will cover those who directly transport stolen grain.
Recall that the bulk carrier Panormitis transports more than 25 thousand tons of grain, part of which is documented with deliveries from occupied Berdyansk.
