Former Deputy Minister of Agricultural Policy Suspicion Announced Over Million-Dollar Losses

NABU and Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office reported suspicion of abuse of office to the former Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine.
NABU detectives reported suspicion to the former Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy, as well as to the former Deputy Head of the District State Administration. This was reported by the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office press service.
They are suspected of abuse of office and official forgery, which resulted in significant losses to the state.
According to the investigation, in 2018, when the suspect held the position of head of one of the departments of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, and later became deputy minister, he, together with the deputy head of the RDA, illegally organized the payment of state aid to an enterprise in the field of plant growing.
In particular, this concerns UAH 27 million, which was allocated as compensation for the purchase of planting material. However, in reality, the products were not purchased, and the amount was used to make a contribution to the authorized capital of the enterprise from the sole founder.
The actions of the suspects are classified under Part 2 of Article 364, Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. A pre-trial investigation is currently underway.
The day before, USM wrote that a former deputy of the Ukrainian People’s Party was arrested in absentia in the case of seizure of UDS vessels.
