Germany reduced trade with Russia in favor of Ukraine


Ukraine increased its export of goods to Germany by 20%. Likewise, Germany increased its import of Ukrainian goods in half a year.

The volume of trade between Germany and Ukraine has surpassed the volume of trade between Germany and Russia, Deputy Minister of Economy Taras Kachka said.

In the first half of 2024, Ukraine imported goods from Germany worth 3.6 billion euros (6.7% more than the same figure last year), and Ukraine exported goods worth 1.6 billion euros (an increase of 20%).

On the other hand, exports from Germany to Russia decreased by a quarter – to 3.7 billion euros, and imports of goods from the Russian Federation to Germany fell by 58% – to 1 billion.

In 2021, Germany’s exports to Russia amounted to 26 billion euros.
