Marina will be built in the port of Izmail for half a million euros

The details of the project were shared during the presentation of plans for the development of two ports of the Danube region during the international exhibition NewPORT UA in Kyiv.

According to the Head of the Izmail seaport Administration, Olexandr Istomin, the port plans to develop the infrastructure of sea terminals. So, within 10 years, a complex of facilities for handling and storing general, bulk and liquid cargo will be built on the 85 km section of the Danube River. The depth will be increased from 4.5 m to 7 m. The terminal’s capacity is 200 thousand tons. The cost of the work is UAH 10 million (USD 374.7 thousand), the investor is Econovatika LLC.

Also, within 10 years, it is planned to place a complex for the processing of mineral fertilizers at the 8th berth and in the rear zone on the territory of the industrial and transshipment complex №1 of the State Enterprise “IZM CSP”. The depths at the site will be increased to 7 m. The complex’s capacity is 100 thousand tons. The cost of the work is UAH 10 million (USD 374.7 thousand), the investor is Econovatika LLC.

In addition, a separate project is planned in the port, “more of an reputation”, as Istomin called it, – the construction of a modern parking lot for small vessels. This is partly due to the fact that the city has recently won a grant for the purchase of several boats. A marina will be built within the Luka Kapikrayan embankment within 10 years. The depth of the parking lot is 7 m, customers – about 1250 passengers per year. The cost of the work is 580 thousand euros, the investor is the Municipal Institution of the Izmail City Council.

Yuri Kononenko, Head of the Reni branch of SE “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority”, listed the projects that are included in the port development plan:

  • construction of a transshipment complex for grain and packaged cargo of Agro-Reni LLC: increasing the capacity for handling cargo – up to 500 thousand tons per year, the total number of one-time storage – up to 30 thousand tons;
