Pletenchuk: the Russian fleet no longer affects the course of hostilities in Ukraine

Previously, the enemy could transfer troops to Ukraine by waterways, now the Russians cannot cope even with the Black Sea Fleet.

The Russian fleet actually lost the opportunity to influence the course of hostilities in Ukraine. This was stated by the spokesman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Pletenchuk, “Krym.Realii” пишуть writes.

“Colleagues from intelligence can answer this question more professionally. I can point out that any level of readiness and number of units cannot actually affect the course of hostilities in our theater,” said Pletenchuk.

According to a Navy spokesman, the enemy could transfer some forces inland, but is not doing so because “it cannot deal with even the forces that remain in the Black Sea.”

Also, the enemy cannot reinforce the Black Sea Fleet with ships from the Mediterranean Sea.

Pletenchuk emphasized that “the weakness of the Russian fleet is confirmed by actual combat operations in Ukraine.” Russia considers itself a “powerful maritime power”, but it still lags technologically behind NATO countries.

As USM wrote the day before, the Russian Federation’s new terrorist strategy in the war against Ukraine is to attack civilian ships belonging to EU companies with missiles.
