Russia plans to import jet fuel from Japan by sea due to fuel crisis

Russia is ready to import jet fuel from Japan through traders as it faces a fuel crisis following the Ukrainian attacks
Reuters reported this, citing three sources familiar with the matter.
At least 200,000 barrels of jet fuel are expected to be loaded from the port of Chiba, Japan, in the first half of July and initially shipped to South Korea, two sources with knowledge of the deal said, with several traders involved in the chain of transactions.
The cargo is then expected to be transferred to another tanker from the South Korean port of Yeosu before heading to Russia. The cargo’s final destination is not yet known.
The previous such shipment by Russia was likely 22,000 barrels of jet fuel from Yeosu in South Korea in February 2022, according to Kpler ship tracking data. The cargo was delivered to the Far Eastern region of Vladivostok.
USM previously reported that the Defense Forces struck an oil terminal and a naval base in the Leningrad Region of the Russian Federation.
