State Property Fund plans to resume privatization of Danube ports
The State Property Fund is preparing to resume the privatization of port infrastructure on the Danube and put the dry port up for sale.
FSMU continues privatization of Danube ports. This was announced by the head of the Foundation Vitaliy Koval, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“There is already a history of privatization of one port. We are preparing another object for sale, which currently functions as a dry port. After opening the navigation, the investor who will purchase this asset at the auction will be able to quickly start operations,” the official commented.
Previously, the FSMU was preparing to put the Belgorod-Dniester port up for auction. It is expected to be the second major port infrastructure asset sold on the Prozorro platform since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion.
From April 1, 2022, the Bilhorod-Dniester port is used as a logistics center for ports on the Danube. It receives cargo on cars and sends them further by rail. Since May, the enterprise has started shipping grain, transshipment of iron ore pellets, and transshipment of metal products.
The operation of the Bilhorod-Dniester port significantly reduced the load on the road infrastructure to the ports of Izmail and Reni. Before the full-scale war, the enterprise was unprofitable.
As USM wrote, the State Property Fund of Ukraine previously announced auctions for warehouses in the port of Reni.
