Moldovan grain traders are calling on the state-owned enterprise “Moldovan Railways” (CFM) to review the fee for the idleness of wagons in the port of Reni.

At an extraordinary meeting of the Moldovan-Ukrainian specialized commission, the parties failed to agree on a new regime for water discharges from the Dnister reservoir.

“Moldova Railways” is considering the possibility of extending the track directly to the territory of the state port of Giurgiuleşti.

On the night of September 9, Russian drones attacked the international automobile checkpoint “Starokozache” on the border with Moldova.

Ukrzaliznytsia considers it realistic to increase the throughput capacity of the grain corridor through Moldova to 4.5 million tons per year and sees opportunities for further growth.

The State Enterprise “Moldovan Railways” currently does not approve the transfer of grain cargo through this border crossing, so Ukrzaliznytsia is redirecting them to other junctions.

Currently, traffic through the international checkpoint “Vynohradivka” is completely suspended, and transport is being redirected to other checkpoints.

In the first 20 days of August, Moldovan Railways transported 15.7 thousand tons of agricultural cargo in transit.

Ukrainian grain is transported in Ukrainian wagons, so its transit does not limit Moldovan farmers’ access to the wagon fleet.

The negotiations will take place against the backdrop of the union’s statements about possible mass protests if the authorities do not propose a solution to organize transportation.
