The export of sunflower seeds reached a historical maximum

Since the beginning of the 22/23 season, the export of sunflower seeds from Ukraine amounted to 1.54 million tons.
The export of sunflower seeds from September to February is 1.54 million tons. Almost 80% of the total export of oilseeds went to the EU countries and 19% to Turkey, APC-inform analysts report.
Thus, Bulgaria (429 thousand tons) and Romania (406 thousand tons) became the leaders among importers.
The last few months have seen a gradual decline in sunflower exports. This is due to a decrease in demand against the background of a sufficient supply of sunflower in Europe.
At the same time, the complication of the “grain corridor” limits internal processing and promotes further active supply of Ukrainian sunflower on the export market.
According to estimates, Ukraine can export another 800-900 thousand tons of sunflower in the second half of the 2022/23 season.
