The Port of Odesa is expected to be excluded from the UNESCO list by the beginning of summer

The Odesa seaport will be excluded from the UNESCO world heritage, but will be included in the buffer zone.

The issue of the need to exclude the Odesa seaport from the UNESCO list was discussed on Wednesday, May 3, at a session, the Odesa City Council reports.

By June 2023, the City Hall needs to implement a number of measures, including excluding the port from the main security zone. At the same time, the port will be included in the buffer zone – the area around the facility, where restrictions on new construction will apply.

As previously reported by USM, the historical center of the city of Odesa was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The territory of the Odesa port was also included in the security zone.
