The second vessel with coal for DTEK will come next week
DTEK Energo expects the arrival of another bulk carrier with coal from November 29th to December 5th.
“We are getting ready to meet the second of the seven Panamaxes. It is expected in Ukraine next week and will replenish the stocks of its own generation – DTEK Energo TPPs”, DTEK Energo said in a Facebook message.
The company noted that on November 24th, the first vessel with 60.5 thousand tons of coal was completely unloaded at the port of Yuzhny. The coal will be transferred to the state-owned Thermal Power Plant “Centrenergo”.
“At present, more than a third of the specified volume has been shipped in wagons in order to replenish the stocks of state generation as soon as possible”, the DTEK said.
As USM previously reported, the rest of the vessels for DTEK will arrive in the coming months: four in December, one in January.
As a reminder, DTEK has contracted 7 vessels with coal from the USA and Colombia for. The company agreed to transfer part of the coal to the state generation, which is experiencing a coal shortage.
In total, DTEK agreed to import 1.2 million tons of coal and guaranteed that all of the company’s thermal power plants would be supplied with coal until the end of the heating season.
