Ukraine has reduced exports by 13% since the beginning of the year


Exports of goods from Ukraine in the first two months of 2025 decreased significantly, while imports continue to grow.

Exports of goods in January-February 2025 amounted to $6.28 billion, which is 13% less than last year. In contrast, imports of goods increased by 12.3% to $11.30 billion, writes Ukrinform with reference to the State Statistics Service.

As a result, the negative balance of foreign trade in January-February 2025 amounted to $5.01 billion. This is significantly more than in the same period in 2024, when this indicator was $2.84 billion.

The export-import coverage ratio decreased to 0.56, which indicates a significant difference between the volumes of export and import deliveries (in January-February 2024, the ratio was 0.72).

Exports of ferrous metals decreased by 19.7%, and cereals by 20.5%. A drop was also recorded in the category of fats and oils, where exports decreased by 11.9%.

In total, in the first two months of the year, Ukraine carried out foreign trade operations with 202 countries of the world.

The day before, USM reported that Ukrainian grain exports were 5 million tons behind compared to last year.
