Ukraine will accept six more vessels with coal in December
Two vessels with coal are already unloading, and six more will come to Ukraine by the end of December.
Almost 450 thousand tons of coal are in the reserves of thermal power plants, and another 150 thousand in the ports, said Deputy Head of the President’s Office Rostyslav Shurma on the air of “Freedom of speech on ICTV”. Shurma explained the low coal reserves by the global crisis in the industry and Russia’s blocking of coal supplies by rail.
“Kazakhstan was a major supplier for Ukraine, this country could export 500 thousand tons every month,” said Shurma. “Every month the state will import 6-10 vessels to renew coal reserves in warehouses. Six shipments will be imported by the end of the month.”
Thus, by the end of 2021, warehouses will be replenished with about 800 tons of coal, the official concluded. As USM previously reported, SE “CSP Yuzhny” has accepted the second vessel with thermal coal for PJSC “Centrenergo”.
