USA to transfer Mark-6 combat cutters to Ukraine in 2022


Next year, the United States will transfer Mark-6 high-speed combat cutters to Ukraine.

According to Ukrinform, this was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the celebrations of the Day of the Naval forces of Ukraine in Odessa.

“Ukraine, together with the United States, Great Britain, Turkey and other countries, is actively implementing joint large-scale projects in a sphere of renewal of our battle fleet and the development of modern naval infrastructure. In particular, next year the American side will begin transferring Mark VI high-speed combat cutters to Ukraine,” Zelensky emphased.

The head of state also has specified that in the short term, the Ukrainian fleet will also be replenished with mine countermeasures ships and modern missile cutters.

“In the port of Pivdenny, the appropriate infrastructure is being formed, the control of the battalion of ships has been deployed, 2 cutters of the Island type are based, and it is expected to replenish with three more cutters, which are now being modernized in the United States,” Zelenskyy said.
